Notta

Notta is an AI note taker that transcribes, summarizes, and generates action plans from meetings, interviews, or recordings. You can send a bot into Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, or Webex, or record on the device with Notta Desktop so no bot joins. The free card is $0 with 120 transcription minutes a month and 3 minutes per conversation. Pro is $8.17 per month and a $97.99 annual total. Business is $16.67 per month and a $199.99 annual total. Is Notta right for you?

Use Notta when the recording itself is the job and you can live inside a minute quota. Free is a real account with no credit card, but a 3-minute cap will not hold a normal meeting. Pro is the card that adds export, transcript translation, and custom vocabulary, still at 1,800 minutes. Business is the card that says transcription is unlimited and adds meeting video plus CRM and Zapier. Desktop recording is included at no additional cost and still requires you to tell people you are recording. Translation beyond a few free uses, and the larger Notta Brain credit pack, are add-ons.

A good fit for

  • Trying a short transcript before you pay, within 120 minutes and 3 minutes per conversation.
  • Choosing a bot that joins the call or a desktop recorder that does not appear in the participant list.
  • Comparing Pro and Business annual totals before you buy translation or extra AI credits.

Know the trade-offs

  • Free playback after you cancel a paid plan shows only the first 3 minutes of a saved transcript.
  • The pricing page has a Monthly toggle, but the public Pro and Business cards do not show a monthly dollar amount.

Bot recording, desktop capture, and the notes that follow.

A bot in the call, or audio from your computer

The recorder page says Notta works with Zoom, Google Meet, Teams, and Webex. For Zoom, you sign in, pick a language, paste the invite link, optionally rename the bot, and click Transcribe now so the bot joins. The three-step guide says to open Notta, paste a link or start the video recorder, check the mic and camera, then click Transcribe now or Start recording. Stop with the red button, edit, highlight, and share. Recordings are stored in the cloud and the FAQ says only invited people can open the notes. Notta Desktop is the other path, in beta for Mac and Windows. It captures audio on the device, adds no participant, and auto-detects a meeting. The page lists Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Slack, Webex, Discord, WhatsApp Desktop, and 33+ more, and a FAQ says 40+ apps. MacOS 13 or later is required for system audio. MacOS 14.4+ needs audio permission only. MacOS 13.0–14.3 also needs screen-recording permission. MacOS 11–12 can run the app but cannot do bot-free capture. Windows 10 version 1903 or later and Windows 11 are supported on x64. It is available to all Notta users at no additional cost. You are still responsible for informing participants about recording in accordance with applicable laws and your company's policy.

Official documentation

What the transcript is supposed to become

The homepage says meetings, interviews, and lectures become searchable text or visuals, and that 58 languages are supported for transcription and translation. Desktop narrows that to real-time transcription across 58 languages, with bilingual support for 23 language pairs. After a desktop call, the transcript, summary, and action items land in the workspace, and you can ask Notta Brain for a client deck or a follow-up email. The nav also lists AI notes, cross-meeting questions, infographics, a document builder for PDF, Word, Excel, and slides, follow-up emails, and Slack messages. Two speed lines disagree. One says infographics in 5 seconds. The recorder page says an infographic in one minute. Both are the site's wording. Notta Brain, formerly AI Chat, is described as search across meetings that can generate slides and infographics. AI credits are the unit for those Brain features, and credits are deducted only after a successful output. The pricing FAQ lists 100 credits per question, 200 per image, 300 per PPT file, and 200 per Excel or Word file. It includes every plan row in the compare 1,000 Brain credits a month. A separate add-on includes 8,000 credits a month.

Minute caps, seats, and what Free cannot export

Free is $0 with no credit card, 1 seat, 120 transcription minutes a month, up to 3 minutes per conversation, 50 file uploads, and 10 AI summaries. The quota does not carry over. Key features named on that card are transcribing web meetings and speaker identification. Pro is for people who want more minutes. The annual card is $8.17 USD/month, total $97.99 billed annually, with a 40% off badge. It lists 1 seat, 1,800 minutes, up to 5 hours per recording, 100 uploads, and 100 AI summaries, plus export, transcript translation, and custom vocabulary. Business is $16.67 USD/month, total $199.99 billed annually, with unlimited transcription, 5 hours per recording, 200 uploads, and 200 AI summaries. It adds recording web meeting video, advanced data security controls, a usage report, and CRM and Zapier integration. Enterprise is custom, starting from 51 seats, with customized transcription, unlimited uploads and AI summaries, SAML SSO, full data access control, audit logs, flexible payments, and priority support. A line offers 50% off for education and a 7-day Business trial. If you cancel a paid plan, the data stays, but a Free user can only view the first 3 minutes of the transcript.

Translation add-ons, credits, and the security labels

Add-ons are for Pro, Business, and Enterprise only. Monolingual translation is $6 USD/month, total $72 billed annually, and a monthly plan cost of $10 USD/month. Pro and Business get up to 100 uses a month. Enterprise is unlimited. Bilingual transcription and translation is $9 USD/month, total $108 billed annually, with a monthly plan cost of $15 USD/month, and up to 200 uses for Pro and Business. The compare table also gives every plan up to 4 free bilingual uses a month and up to 2 free monolingual real-time uses. Notta Brain as an add-on is $93.59 USD per year for 8,000 AI credits a month, marked New Pro. The menu labels security as SOC 2, ISO 27001, GDPR, and HIPAA. The homepage FAQ says SOC 2 Type II certified and GDPR compliant, and that conversations stay private. On-device transcription is a separate menu item: transcribe locally, nothing leaves your device. That is not the same sentence as Desktop, which sends the transcript into the Notta workspace. Payments can be a card on the website or an in-app purchase through Apple or Google.

Ways to use Notta

A three-minute test before a paid seat

A suggested first use is the Free card, not a team workspace. Start for free with no card, record one short conversation under 3 minutes, and read the speaker labels and the AI summary if you are inside the 10 summaries a month. Upload is available too, up to 50 files, but the same 3-minute conversation cap is on the card. Stop there if the meeting is longer. The page does not say Free can export the transcript. Export, translation, and custom vocabulary are under Everything in Free, plus, on the Pro card.

A client call that should not show a bot

A suggested desktop workflow is for a call where a bot name would be a problem. Download the Mac or Windows beta, sign in, allow audio once, and accept the prompt when the meeting starts. The page says the participant list does not gain a Notta entry. When the call ends, summary and action items are supposed to appear in the workspace. Tell people anyway. The FAQ says you are still responsible for informing participants under applicable laws and company policy. Bot mode remains the path when you need video or when you are not in the room. Both modes are said to produce the same transcript, summary, and outputs. Headphones are suggested on the page because they reduce echo on the 48kHz capture.

A team that will exceed 1,800 minutes

A suggested upgrade path is Business once 1,800 Pro minutes or the 100-summary cap is the constraint. The Business card says transcription is unlimited, keeps the 5-hour recording cap, and adds meeting video plus CRM and Zapier. Seats are not fixed at one. Enterprise is the card that starts at 51 seats. Price the add-ons separately. Translation beyond the free uses, and the 8,000-credit Brain pack, are not inside the $16.67 figure. Quota does not carry over, so unused Free or Pro minutes do not roll forward. This suggestion follows the cards.

Alternatives to Notta

Otter.ai

You want another meeting-notes product, not these minute caps.

Notta's public difference is the 3-minute Free cap, the bot versus desktop choice, and the annual Pro and Business cards. Choose Otter.ai when you are comparing a different meeting product.

Fireflies.ai

A meeting bot is the whole product you want to compare.

Notta documents both a bot that joins Zoom, Meet, Teams, and Webex and a desktop recorder that does not join. Choose Fireflies.ai when you want that other meeting listing.

MeetGeek

You are shopping meeting assistants rather than Notta seats.

Choose it when the decision is which meeting assistant to open, not which Notta quota fits.
