Riverside

Riverside is a browser studio for podcasts, interviews, webinars, and live streams. The homepage says you can capture up to 4K video and uncompressed audio in separate tracks, unaffected by internet connection. Guests can join from a link. Editing is a transcript: search, cut, copy, and paste. A free plan is named on the pricing page, and Pro, Grow, Webinar, and Business sit beside it. That same capture says you may be looking at a staging view.

Is Riverside right for you?

Riverside fits a host who wants each guest on a separate local track and is willing to finish the episode in the same product. Free is $0 with a 2-hour multi-track try, 720p, a watermark, and unlimited single-track recording. Pro is the first row with 4K, 48kHz, no watermark, one studio, and 15 hours of separate-track downloads, shown as $29 and $24/mo billed $288 annually. Grow and Webinar add live and webinar tools. Do not treat the Webinar annual line as settled: one figure is $408 annually next to $79/mo, which is Grow’s annual math, and the page says the view may be out of date.

A good fit for

  • Hosts recording remote guests who should not install an app or send files later.
  • Editors who would rather cut a transcript than a timeline, including filler words and a misspoken line.
  • Teams running a webinar with registration, then turning that recording into clips.

Know the trade-offs

  • The pricing capture says it may be a staging view and may not be up to date.
  • Webinar’s shown annual total is $408 and matches Grow, while its monthly pair is $99 and $79. Free exports carry a watermark.

Record locally, then cut the transcript.

Local tracks, then a link for the guest

The homepage says you capture up to 4K video and uncompressed audio in separate tracks, unaffected by internet connection. A sample on that page labels 3840 x 2160 WAV and MP4 files per speaker. The podcasters page calls the same idea uncompressed WAV and says local recording holds quality no matter the guest’s connection. Guests join by clicking on a link—no downloads needed—though desktop, mobile, and tablet apps exist for recording on the go. The file uploads during the live session, so guests are not asked to send it later. You get synced and separate tracks for each person. Free’s multi-track line is a 2-hour try. Paid cards move to 4K and 48kHz and drop the watermark.

Cut the transcript, then let AI touch the take

The homepage says you search, cut, copy, and paste right in the transcript. The podcasters page adds delete to that list. Separate tracks are what let you remove crosstalk or change one person’s layout. One-click AI edits enhance audio and remove fluff, silences, and filler words. Other homepage controls are narrower. Fixing the transcript can sync voice and lips. Eye contact, prompt-based B-roll, and layouts that follow the speaker are separate actions. Translation and dubbing cover over 30 languages. Magic Clips, show notes, captions, and an AI Co-Creator are named too. Al Credits power select features like Al Translation, Al B-Roll, and Animated Clips. Magic Clips, Magic Audio, and the Al Co-Creator are the group described as not requiring credits.

Publish, stream, or keep the webinar

Publishing on the homepage is a listing on Spotify, Apple, Youtube, and more, plus generated titles, descriptions, chapters, and takeaways. Analytics cover episode success and audience behavior. Live output is full HD to LinkedIn, Youtube, Instagram, Twitch, and more, with call-ins and Q&A in one chat view. A logo, colors, intro, and outro can be applied with a click. The podcasters page adds a royalty-free music library or your own files, and a Spotify publish path. Webinar tools are not on the Free card. The pricing page says host webinars with up to 100 registrants, pre-record and stream as live, and sync leads to HubSpot. Grow adds Full HD 1080p live streaming and multistream to unlimited destinations. Business raises registrants to 10,000 and lists API access, SSO (Okta, Azure), and SOC2 & ISO27001 compliance.

Ways to use Riverside

A remote interview with separate files

Send the studio link, record, and let the upload finish during the session. Download separate tracks only if the plan’s hour allowance covers them. Free’s multi-track try is 2 hours at up to 720p with a watermark. Pro removes the watermark, lists 4K and 48kHz, and gives 15 hours of separate-track downloads. Recording itself is still described as unlimited.

Clean a take from the transcript

Search the transcript, paste the corrected words, and use the lip-sync control only if you want the new line to look spoken. Then clear filler words. Magic Clips are on Free and sit in the group that does not require Al Credits. Translation, Al B-Roll, and Animated Clips are the ones that do. Pro starts at 2000 free credits and Business at 12000.

A webinar that becomes clips

Use the registration form and email reminders, stay inside the registrant cap, then cut clips from the same recording. HubSpot sync is named on the webinar tools, not on Free. Webinar lists up to 100 registrants, 3 studios, and 25 hours of separate-track downloads, plus a 14-day trial. Business is the card for 10,000 registrants, unlimited studios, and a demo instead of a shown price.

Alternatives to Riverside

Descript

You already have the recording and the job is the edit.

Riverside’s public pages center on local separate tracks, a guest link, and a transcript editor in the same studio. Choose Descript when that recording step is not the requirement.

CapCut

The job is a social cut, not a remote guest session.

Riverside documents guest recording, separate tracks, and webinar registration. Choose CapCut when you are comparing a video editor and do not need that studio.

Opus

You want another marketing tool and not a browser studio.

Riverside’s documented path runs from a live recording to clips, hosting, and a webinar. Choose Opus when the assignment is not that recording studio.

Riverside: common questions

What does the free plan include?

The card is $0 and says try 2 hours of multi-track recordings with separate audio and video tracks. It lists up to 720p, 44.1 kHz, a watermark, unlimited single-track recording, Magic Clips, and video calls as long as you want. The homepage says no credit card is needed. It does not put 4K or watermark removal on Free.

Why are two annual discounts shown?

Save up to 60$ on annual billing. A line says annual billing saves you up to 20%, then lists Pro from $29 to $24/month, Grow from $39 to $34 and Webinar from $99 to $79. The compare row also bills both Grow and Webinar at $408 annually. It says the view may be a staging environment, so confirm these figures before you pay.

Source
What is a studio, and how many do you get?

The FAQ says a studio is your dedicated space for a show, with its own recordings, podcast hosting, analytics, and website. Pro gives you 1 studio, Grow gives you 2, Webinar gives you 3, and Business gives you unlimited. The same answer says two podcasts, two YouTube channels, or two clients are a reason to keep separate studios.

Source
Are recording hours and download hours the same?

No. Downloads of the separate studio-quality files are 15 hours on Pro, 20 on Grow, and 25 on Webinar. The FAQ says recording itself is unlimited. It includes another 5 hours per month under different plan labels.

Source
Which AI tools spend credits?

The public answer says Al Credits power Al Translation, Al B-Roll, and Animated Clips. Pro users start with 2000 free credits and Business starts with 12000. You can purchase more after they are used. The next line says Magic Clips, Magic Audio, and the Al Co-Creator don’t require credits. Grow and Webinar credit allotments are not in that answer.

Does a guest have to install Riverside?

The podcasters page says no. You join by clicking a link, with no downloads needed for you or your guests. It also offers desktop, mobile, and tablet apps for recording on the go.
