Is GPTExcel right for you?

GPTExcel fits a job that starts with a file you trust and ends as a paste or a download: a formula, a native Excel pivot workbook, a chart, a script, or a PowerPoint or PDF deck. The public text shows Monthly and Annual (save 30%) but no yearly dollar amount. Large files meet a hard cap: 5 MB on Free, 50 MB on Pro, and 100 MB on Pro Plus.

A good fit for

  • People who already have an Excel, CSV, or TSV file and want a plain-English answer plus a formula they can paste back.
  • Work that needs a downloadable Excel pivot workbook, or a PowerPoint or PDF deck, from that same file.
  • Users who also want SQL, regular expressions, or scripts for Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, or Airtable.

Know the trade-offs

  • Free limits use two units: 50 credits a month and 5 free tool runs a day on pricing, and 10 chat messages every 30 days on the chat page.
  • Weekly credits do not roll over, and heavy bursts are paced over 5-hour windows.
  • A looked-up function can be Insider or Beta only. The answer is supposed to warn you first; you still try the formula in your own Excel.

Chat, formulas, pivots, and downloaded decks.

Ask the uploaded file in Chat

Chat keeps the workbook in the thread. You upload a file and describe what you need in plain English. Chat computes figures by running code on your file, and answers with text, tables, charts, formulas and downloadable files. The homepage order is to upload Excel, CSV, or a photo of a table, review the result, then download the file or copy the formula. GPTExcel reads your columns, headers, and values so responses are grounded in your actual data. Paste the requested formula into your sheet, or follow up to refine, drill down, or compare periods. Docs accept Excel workbooks (.xlsx,.xls,.xlsm,.xlsb, and templates), CSV and TSV files, and images of tables. A share is a read-only link that opens without signing in.

Official documentation

Formulas, scripts, SQL, and regex

The homepage says write and explain formulas for Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, and Airtable. Chat checks brand-new Excel and Sheets functions against official docs. Other lines generate and explain SQL queries and regular expressions in plain English. Generate VBA, Apps Script, LibreOffice Basic, Airtable, and Python scripts. Cleaning means remove duplicates, standardize values, and transform data. Upload Excel or CSV, ask in plain English, and get formulas, pivot tables, slide decks, charts, and summaries. Each generator can generate, explain, or optimize, and there is a table template generator. Every plan includes every tool; Pro and Pro Plus raise chat, tool, and file-upload limits rather than unlocking a hidden generator.

Download a pivot workbook or a deck

The Pivot Builder agent creates native Excel pivot tables, slicers, timelines and pivot charts in a workbook you download. The homepage calls that a plain-English request for native pivot tables, slicers, and pivot charts. The Slide Deck Builder agent turns your data into a deck with native charts, which you download as PowerPoint or PDF. A written summary of key figures is the other report on the homepage. Charts can also be drawn in the chat. Both agents are named on Free, Pro, and Pro Plus.

Check newer functions before you paste

The chat page says models only know functions that existed when they were trained, so GPTExcel checks first. When a function is newer, Chat looks it up on Microsoft's and Google's documentation before answering. If it is only in Insider or Beta builds, the answer says so before you copy a formula that may not work in your Excel, and it links the official page. The check covers Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets functions in Chat. That warning is text in the reply, not a run inside desktop Excel. The pages do not extend the lookup to LibreOffice Calc or Airtable. Paste the formula into the app you use and compare it with a total you already know.

Ways to use GPTExcel

A finance file and a pasted formula

Upload an expense workbook and ask for a department total, or for the formula that reproduces it. You get the answer, a pasteable formula if you ask, and a table, chart, or file when Chat returns one. Name the columns you care about. If a function looks unfamiliar, use the Insider or Beta warning and the official link, then paste the formula into the real workbook and compare it with a total you trust.

An operations pivot you open in Excel

Send a region or month sheet to Pivot Builder with a plain-English request. The download is a workbook of native Excel pivot tables, slicers, timelines, and pivot charts. Name the row field, the column field, the values, and any slicer. Open the file in Excel and match it to the source rows before you send it on.

A campaign sheet turned into slides

Leave a campaign sheet in Chat for a summary, then use Slide Deck Builder for slides. The download is PowerPoint or PDF with native charts. A written summary of key figures is the other report on the homepage. Ask only for columns the file has, such as channel, period, and spend. The pages do not mention a company slide master, so read the downloaded titles against the sheet first.

GPTExcel: common questions

What does GPTExcel do with a spreadsheet?

The homepage FAQ says it helps you generate formulas, analyze Excel and CSV files, build pivot tables, create charts and slide decks, clean data, write scripts, and summarize spreadsheet information. Docs add that Chat runs code on the uploaded file.

Source
Which platforms and file types are supported?

Formulas and scripts can target Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, LibreOffice Calc, and Airtable. Docs list Excel workbooks (.xlsx,.xls,.xlsm,.xlsb, and templates), CSV and TSV files, and images of tables.

Source
Is there a free plan, and is a card required?

Free is $0 /forever: 50 credits a month, a Fast model, 5 free tool runs every day, then 1 credit each, and files up to 5 MB, 10 per chat. The free plan needs no credit card. Separately, the free plan includes 10 chat messages every 30 days.

What changes on Pro and Pro Plus?

Pro is $9 /mo and Pro Plus is $18 /mo. Pro lists ≈ 3,000 credits a month, files up to 50 MB, and Fast plus Standard at 1 / 2 credits a message. Pro Plus lists ≈ 10,000 credits a month, files up to 100 MB, and adds Expert at 1 / 2 / 10 credits a message. Paid credits refresh weekly.

Source
Can a spreadsheet become PowerPoint or PDF?

Yes. The Slide Deck Builder agent turns your data into a deck with native charts, which you download as PowerPoint or PDF. A written summary of key figures is the other option on the homepage. The pages do not describe a company template or an export straight to Google Slides.

Source
What do the pages say about privacy, sharing, and cancellation?

Files use AES-256 at rest in S3 and TLS in transit, are never training data, and the homepage calls the product GDPR-ready for consent management and data requests. Sign in with Google, Microsoft, or a passwordless magic link. Delete on request removes the account and files together. Nothing is shared unless you share it, and a chat share is a read-only link. The pages do not state a backup window or a license for formulas. After cancel, the plan stays active until the billing period ends, then the account moves to the free plan.
