Frase is a content platform for a site you already run. Add a domain, let it crawl, and connect Google Search Console. It then scores pages, builds a fix list, moves from research to a brief to a draft, and can send the piece to a CMS. Monthly quotas decide how much of that loop you get.
Pick Frase when the work is the whole loop: a weak URL or a missing topic, a draft that uses the brand file, and a push to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix, or FraseCMS. Starter is one seat and one site, and it stops when the article and audit counts run out. Professional and Scale add seats, domains, and more engines in AI Visibility, with pay-as-you-go left off until you enable it. Nothing ships until you approve it, unless you let the agent publish. A chat-only draft with no CMS step is a smaller job than this subscription.
A good fit for
A single site that needs a prioritized fix list under a hard monthly article cap.
An in-house team sharing seats, a calendar, and more than one domain.
An agency exporting client reports across several sites.
Know the trade-offs
Starter holds at its monthly limits instead of billing past them.
AI Visibility engines are split by plan, so the docs list is wider than Starter.
Free FraseCMS hosting pauses after the included page views, and the badge stays until you pay.
How Frase audits, drafts, and publishes.
Build the fix list from the crawl and Search Console
The crawl and Google Search Console are the inputs. The docs say those connections empower Frase to understand the brand. The audit is a baseline of site health, existing content, and a prioritized list of fixes. The homepage scores each page for search and for AI answers, then puts the most valuable fixes first. Search data, competitors, pages you already have, pages losing ground, and visitor questions become one list, with the most useful work at the top. Content Guard catches a page losing rank or traffic, drafts the revision, and puts it in front of you. Approve it and Frase republishes. The watchlist is 10 pages on Starter, 75 on Professional, and 300 on Scale.
Create runs from research to brief to finished article. Frase digs through search trends, competitors, and content gaps, then shows SEO, GEO, and Google EEAT scores while the draft is open. You can also import and improve content that already exists. The Content tab is for a live URL or a topic you hand the agent. The Research tab is the slower brief. The Brand Hub has to be reviewed first. The crawl fills voice, competitors, and other brand info, and every detail in the Brand Hub impacts your content workflows. You can write it yourself, write with the agent, or let Frase draft it, in your voice learned from your pages, or set by you in the Brand Hub. The site says that writing is native in 70+ languages, never translated.
One click sends the finished draft live to WordPress, Webflow, Sanity, Wix, or Frase CMS, or you export and paste it somewhere else. The pricing page names the same four CMSs, or hosting on FraseCMS. That host is described as agent-ready, hosted or headless, with WebMCP so assistants can read the pages. The included tier is the one called no hosting bill; Basic and Pro buy more page views and remove the badge. Nothing ships until you approve it, unless you move the dial. You can let Frase publish on its own, keep every page under review, or anywhere in between. You set the dial. On Starter the agent publishes on its own when you let it, on any content type. On Scale you can turn the agent loose across every site you run, not just one.
Rank tracking is separate from the draft score. The docs say Frase follows Google through SEO Analytics and AI citations across ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, and more. The plan table is narrower. Starter includes SEO and GEO scores plus AI Visibility on ChatGPT and Google AI. Professional adds crawler monitoring and Perplexity. Scale adds Claude and Gemini. Frase Answers, a free widget on every plan, records what visitors ask so you can write the missing page. You can use Frase MCP right inside Claude, ChatGPT, or Cursor. Cursor or ChatGPT uses next.frase.io/api/mcp, and ChatGPT needs a Business, Enterprise, or Edu plan. API, MCP, and CLI requests are listed at 5,000, 20,000, and 50,000 a month, or Custom. Enterprise names custom API access and two years of history.
A suggested single-site pass starts from Search Console, not a blank topic. Import the URL that is losing clicks, keep sentences that are still true, and spend the 10-page Starter watchlist on URLs you would actually rewrite. Read the draft before it replaces a URL that still ranks, then send it to the connected CMS or to FraseCMS. The rewrite counts toward the monthly article cap.
Write the missing competitor topic
When buyers search a topic a competitor covers and you have no page, open Research so the brief exists before the draft. Check Brand Hub voice and competitors, then cut sections the brief did not ask for while SEO, GEO, and EEAT scores are visible. A calendar and internal linking suggestions arrive on Professional, so a Starter account links by hand. Publish from the app or paste the draft out. This suggested order is not a rank forecast.
Cover several client domains
Scale matches a multi-site week on paper: five seats, up to ten domains, 100 articles, 1,000 audit pages, Content Guard on 300 URLs, and Claude plus Gemini. Reports export per client. A sixth seat is $29/mo. Letting the agent loose across every site skips the review queue, so pick one behavior. White-label reports and a branded portal are Enterprise only. A suggested contrast is those contract terms, not a higher rank.
How to get started with Frase
1
Connect the site
Add your site domain in the upper left, let Frase crawl it, and connect Google Search Console.
2
Review the audit and Brand Hub
Run the first audit, then correct the voice, competitors, and brand notes the crawl compiled.
3
Open Research or Content
Use Research when you want a brief first. Use Content to revise a live URL or to start from a topic.
4
Approve, publish, and watch
Approve the draft unless you allowed the agent to publish, send it to the connected CMS, and leave Content Guard and AI Visibility on.

Starter simply stops at its monthly limits, so a surprise bill is off the table. On Professional and Scale, pay-as-you-go is optional and off by default. Professional adds $5 per extra article, $0.50 per audit page, and $0.25 per AI prompt. Scale adds $4, $0.40, and $0.20. Extra seats run $29/mo each on Professional and Scale. Every Frase plan includes FraseCMS hosting free, trial included: 100,000 page views a month and 25 GB, with a Powered by Frase badge. More room and no badge from $19/mo on top of a paid plan, or $99/mo at a million page views. Yearly billing on FraseCMS saves two months. A page view counts each time a page is served to a reader or pulled through the API; past the cap, the free tier pauses for the month while paid tiers keep serving. Prices are in USD.
